About the event
You will learn to fillet a trout (or two!), cure the fillets using a salt/sugar mix, hot-smoke them to perfection and vacuum-pack them to take home. (Don't worry, we will smoke a couple of extras to taste on the day!)
You will learn all you need to know, from knife-sharpening to vacuum-packing, and everything in between.
Everything is supplied and at the end of the day you will take home a full set of home-smoking equipment (filleting knife, filleting glove, portable hot-smoker and woodchips) and also the trout which you will have filleted and expertly smoked on the day.
You will also learn about cold-smoking techniques and sample some of our cold-smoked dulse seaweed, sea-salt, pepper and rapeseed oil.
